The cam plug on NB Miatas is often neglected, but can be the cause of "mysterious" oil leaks. We recommend replacing it with every timing belt service, when doing a valve cover gasket, or as needed. We sell the OEM part Mazda gets from Japan!

Pro tip: Avoid loosening the cam cap bolts above it unless you plan to re-seal that cap or you'll have a bigger leak! It's best to pop the old one out and use some light lubricant to slide the new one in.

Used seal was leaking.  New seal fit perfectly was reasonably priced and quick shipping. Always replace with a new seal.
